About Duane Cooney

Duane is a thirty-eight-year experienced healthcare IT leader in enterprise organizations whose greatest passion comes from transformation of people, process, and technology. He has served as a Deputy CIO, Senior Information Technology Director, and Enterprise Architecture leader in public, not-for-profit, and private sectors for most of his career.

For the past twenty years, Duane led healthcare information technology and enterprise architecture teams for hospital and healthcare systems implementations in large-scale enterprise environments. This allowed him to directly collaborate with CIOs, CMIOs, and CTOs leading mission-critical platform teams and implementations. This work provided him with diverse insights and perspectives on current and future technology. This is driven by a professional goal to help make the lives of physicians and clinicians easier, driving to reduce technology complexity, resulting in improvements for the overall patient continuum of care.

Duane earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and is a graduate of the early EDS Operations Development Program at California State Sacramento. He also holds certifications in electronic health records (EHR) systems management, LEAN/Agile, ITIL, and PMP, including core infrastructure platforms and related healthcare technology services.

His research interests vary especially within areas of advancing enterprise architecture teams, platforms, and innovation adoption for all healthcare IT customers and partners.
