Managing ideas is a critical component of the innovation process. Each time a new idea is generated, either independently by a staff member or via a collaborative working session, an idea document should be created.
Use this template to ensure that ideas are relevant and well thought out prior to review by the innovation working group. The working group can use completed idea documents to decide whether or not an idea should progress to prototyping.
The template is structured to include the key components of a successful prototype proposal:
- The major problem, need, or opportunity to be addressed by the innovative idea.
- The Idea Owner who is responsible for owning progression of the idea.
- The key benefits of the solution – both cost-reducing and revenue-generating.
- Strategic alignment to business objectives.
