This communication plan template provides a structure for managing ongoing communications between stakeholders over the course of the project. Consider the following factors:
- Explore differences in how each department views IT’s role in information gathering. In some enterprises, requests for discovery may come from multiple sources (HR, Legal, Finance). IT may want to have requestor-specific versions that explicitly layout the process.
- Identify all eDiscovery cases. Include a list of what IT will and will not do during the eDiscovery process.
- Avoid naming specific IT members. The contact point should be a dedicated mailbox. Allow yourself the flexibility to have the appropriate team members handle requests.
