Adobe, IBM and Autonomy Cardiff are named market “Champions” in Info-Tech Research Group’s eForms Vendor Landscape
London, ON – June, 6th, 2011 - Info-Tech Research Group’s recent eForms Vendor Landscape report titled “Select the Right eForms Solution,” ranked Adobe LiveCycle and Acrobat among the “Champions” with Autonomy Cardiff LiquidOffice and IBM Forms.
“The eForms market is evolving away from the paper form entirely, replacing it with rich UI and integration with both new digital media and more advanced mobile functionality,” said Tim Hickernell, Associate Lead Analyst with Info-Tech Research Group. “The vendors in this space are focusing on rich user interfaces to facilitate a better e-form experience than is possible by forcing traditional paper form UI metaphors on end users.”
According to the report, Adobe LiveCycle is unmatched in features, usability, architecture and vendor strength making it Info-Tech’s highest recommendation for organizations in need of a comprehensive and dynamic eForms solution for mission-critical form-based workflows.
IBM Forms is a robust solution for organizations that are ok with forms remaining entirely in IBM’s XML technology. Their strong support for vertical industry standards, rich UI, iPad support and strong XML, BPM, Process Server and FileNet integration placed them squarely among the Champions.
Autonomy Cardiff LiquidOffice is another Champion in the eForms market and is targeted enterprise and mid-market customers. It is a great choice for organizations with more advanced capture needs, such as field service and field surveillance scenarios, especially when implemented with Autonomy Cardiff’s Teleform product.
Adobe Acrobat is an affordable e-form alternative for the cost conscious backed by a proven vendor. It remains the most viable option for most non-intensive e-form needs that don’t require server-based workflow and assembly, though Info-Tech finds that most people are unaware of this capability of the Adobe Acrobat desktop product. Despite its feature limitations, its extremely low implementation costs propelled it into the Champion quadrant.
PerfectForms is another strong choice at a very affordable price point. While lacking the sales reach and support of its larger competitors, PerfectForms does boast great usability, features and architecture and is a prime example of advanced e-forms in the cloud. With the leading product scores in the report, PerfectForms was ranked as an “Innovator” in the eForms market and is one to consider.
