Ever since Marissa Mayer ordered Yahoo employees back to the office, there’s been a simmering debate about whether telecommuting actually boosts productivity or is just a time-waster.
Many CIOs have likely had to support such strategies — at least to some degree. While telecommuting is not a new concept, technologies such as unified communications have matured enough to allow organizations to create more effective work-at-home strategies, though there are still challenges on the road ahead.
