Amazon EC2 differs from other products in a number of ways including its flexibility in offering various types of instances, OS, software packages, its scalability allowing us to scale up or down our capacity quickly, it's pay-as-you-go model offering affordable hourly costs. What is your favorite aspect of this product?
As a developer, its scalability allows us to easily expand or reduce the infrastructure according to need. Its pay-as-you-go model helps us to reduce cost allocation and we can choose multiple pricing options like on demand, reserved instances, spot instances. We can integrate seamlessly with any of the other AWS services which help us to build and deploy complex applications.
What do you dislike most about this product?
While Amazon EC2 offers numerous benefits, such as scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability, it can also present challenges. It includes complexity of its pricing models, the steep learning curve for those new to cloud computing, and the potential vendor lock-in. Additionally, performance limitations due to shared resources and network latency, as well as the management overhead of patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting, are moreover reason to disappoint the service.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The recommendation for the products will be depend on the use cases. For example if one wants a overall good alternative they can use Microsoft Azure or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. If anyone needs top-notch security and AI Nsd machine learning services, then IBM will be the good choice.
