How to read the Emotional Footprint
The Net Emotional Footprint measures high-level user sentiment towards particular product offerings. It aggregates emotional response ratings for various dimensions of the vendor-client relationship and product effectiveness, creating a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and product.
While purchasing decisions shouldn't be based on emotion, it's valuable to know what kind of emotional response the vendor you're considering elicits from their users.

A data-validated win for us!
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Appcues from other similar products?
Ease of implementation and customer support have been critical factors for us to love the solution.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Time to implement. We were runing pilots and testing our assumptions in no-time. Little engineering capacity was required to implement.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Appcues could probably refine analytics capabilities. That said, we use it integrated with mixpanel and so we cover this aspect there.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Appcues has been instrumental for our engagement results in the Open LMS trial. We measure activation and engagement metrics in our application using different experiment cohorts, and the ones for which we have introduced Appcues flows have had significantly better results. Not only this, is just so easy to create onboarding flows with Appcues that our team is exploring new use cases to go beyond self-service customers and expand its usage into enterprise segments. I would invite people to consider how easy this would be to implement and make use of their free trial to validate fit.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity

A solid all around product adoption tool

What differentiates Appcues from other similar products?
For us, it was the price point and scope of the product. There are other players, but they're often looking for much larger customers or have other analytics features built into the product that we didn't need. Appcues was the right price point and the right features for us.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Appcues really does have great resources to help you understand their product and how it works. It's also been fairly easy to use and for our developers set up which has been great.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Actually creating flows can get a little tedious and the builder is not incredibly intuitive. But, like anything else, you do a few and it becomes easier to do each time.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
A few things to consider before purchasing: 1. What integrations are you going to need? We wanted any product we used to integrate with Hubspot which Appcues does. 2. What exactly do you need from a tool like this? Other companies might have better analytics capabilities but it will cost you more too.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Efficient Service
- Saves Time

Easy to use onboarding tool with a few rough edges

What differentiates Appcues from other similar products?
What stood out the most when we were comparing tools was the ease of use - Appcues UI is very intuitive and easy for users of any level to learn. This was key because we needed to be able to manage this fully internally and quickly get up and running.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite things about Appcues are: - How easy it is to build flows - The Checklist feature is great and really improves our onboarding experience - The analytics and reporting are very helpful for our team to see what users are engaging with and how our flows are performing so we can iterate quickly
What do you dislike most about this product?
My least favorite things about Appcues are: - We knew this going in, but as we've expanded our use of Appcues its lack of support for native mobile applications has become a bigger pain. Our mobile application is designed to be a continuation of our web experience and currently, our mobile users cannot benefit from guided onboarding. Competitors do offer this feature. - It can be hard to track individual users in Appcues and their actions which sometimes makes it tough to report on certain metrics or help our Sales team reach out - As a designer, getting the flow design where I want it can be a headache at times (writing CSS)
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you are interested in Appcues or a product like it, I recommend: - Try it out yourself to see if it's intuitive for you & team! - Having access to a developer (or requesting support from an Appcues developer) during the setup process to make sure you set things like IDs and segments up correctly - Build out a theme so anyone can build a flow and apply your theme for design consistency - Consider whether mobile app support is critical for your business objectives - Get familiar with tracking key events and goals (this is manual so if you don't do it, you won't get robust data)
Pros
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
- Trustworthy
