What differentiates Google Classroom from other similar products?
Aside from its cost, since it is totally free, what differentiates Google Classroom from other LMS is the simplicity and functionality of its user interface design. It was direct to the point, and the needed features are easy to be found both for teachers and students. When opening the product, it obviously shows which classes I am enrolled in or what classes I have to teach.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
There are a lot of aspects of Google Classroom that I love. These are: 1. I love seeing the things that I needed to do, therefore, I love that Google Classroom has a To-Do list that tracks the needed tasks, and assignments I have to submit. 2. There is a calendar integration so I can see clearly when I needed to submit my assignments. 3. Grading my students' work was never this easy. However, please integrate the "draw" feature in the web version for me to annotate something on students' works. I am currently doing this using the app.
What do you dislike most about this product?
What frustrates me is that there are teachers that forgot to archive their classes, therefore it still appears on my dashboard. I don't want to unenroll myself in that class because maybe there are files I have uploaded there that I might find useful in the future. Therefore, please, make a setting or feature that, if a certain class has no activity (eg. posting an announcement, assigning tasks etc.) for a certain period of time (ex. 6 months, or 1 year) it will AUTOMATICALLY be archived.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Google Classroom is one of the free LMS out there that provides essential features for both teachers and students to conduct online classes. Since the majority of Filipino educators and learners depend on google products, Google Classroom is definitely the obvious choice that you would also need in managing your online distance modality of teaching and learning.
