What differentiates Google Meet from other similar products?
Google Meet has a very simple UI with large, easily visible buttons and easy-to-operate controls. The mute/unmute and video turn on/off buttons are very conveniently placed at the bottom, unlike other similar tools where it is difficult to hover over.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Google Meet's on-product whiteboarding and easy-to-share credential copying feature, along with Google Calendar embedding are some of my most favorite aspects, as they make things much convenient for my team and me. Also, the option to mute and unmute users and remove disturbing users from the call helps largely in case of live sessions and webinars.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The option of recording is missing on Google Meet and hence we have to use a third-party tool like Loom to record sessions, especially training sessions with external vendors. Moreover, the Breakout Rooms feature is very complicated to use.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I would suggest to go for the Google Workspace package as it bundles Google Meet without any extra cost.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Trustworthy
