A Cost-Conscious Solution with Limitations
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Google Meet from other similar products?
Integration with G Suite: Google Meet is tightly integrated with G Suite, which includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and other productivity tools. This integration allows for seamless scheduling and joining of meetings directly from these applications. Security: Google Meet offers strong security features, such as encryption in transit and at rest, to ensure the privacy of meetings. It also provides controls for meeting hosts, such as the ability to admit or deny entry to participants and to mute or remove participants if needed. Scalability: Google Meet can accommodate large meetings with up to 250 participants
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
On the positive side, Google Meet is a cost-effective solution, which can be appealing for organizations looking to save on conferencing costs. However, it offers virtually no new features, which may be a downside for those seeking innovative solutions.
What do you dislike most about this product?
certain limitations may affect its appeal for some users. One major drawback is the lack of native blackboard capabilities, which can be a hindrance for collaborative work or educational purposes. Additionally, the absence of native screen control capabilities limits the level of interaction and control during presentations or demonstrations. Another issue is the compatibility with Microsoft Edge, which is the standard browser for many organizations. Virtual backgrounds do not work on Microsoft Edge without a lengthy IT support process, requiring users to switch to Chrome, which can be inconvenient and frustrating
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
When considering Google Meet, start by making a list of critical requirements: compatibility, security, integration, scalability, ease of use, cost, and support. Check these against Google Meet's capabilities and user feedback to ensure it meets your needs. Additionally, evaluate its performance and reliability for your intended use. Consider conducting a trial or pilot to test its features in a real-world scenario before committing.
