What differentiates MPDV MES HYDRA X from other similar products?
Hydra is a solid product. It works very well once you get it going.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
There is not a lot of maintaining this system. It runs great once you get it going. Implementation is relatively easy once you get the first station up and running. It is somewhat cookie cutter after that. We have created a template of modifications that provide additional functionality that the business requested. This makes it easy to roll out these modifications all at once.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It is very complex. I understand that this comes with the fact that it has a great number of features, but troubleshooting is sometimes very difficult. There are several pages in the configuration that have many settings. It is expensive both for licensing and for support - even with our negotiated discounts.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The system is very good at what it does and has a ton of features. It is highly customizable and MPDV is very willing to develop modifications to their software. Negotiate a good discount. Understand there is a big difference between support and configuration with MPDV. If something is not working the way you think it should and it is not an actual problem with the software (support) you are sent to a consultant (configuration) to help troubleshoot. You are charged for any consulting time they provide to help sort out issues.
