Amazing product that grows with organizations!
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Jama Connect from other similar products?
Software like this is usually bloated and at times integrated with other key products that may not have a need for the company administering them. You can piece out Jama and use it to your organization' content. That is one thing that is key for us. The navigability is also important. You are not bottlenecked to use certain workflows. It's open ended and that is very important.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Ease of use and customization. Without a doubt, there are a lot of "features" to this tool. Too much simplicity in these tools means not enough power. Jama, however, takes it to the next level of offering so much feature tightly woven into a product that does not seem big but it is. And we love that!
What do you dislike most about this product?
1. Some search and replace functions as well as other administrative level tools for high volume assets would be a plus. 2. Session tokens seem to either expire or die out so if you have multiple sessions opened, some changes won't apply sometimes or Save button get's locked out. 3. Sometimes some assets are locked when they should not be. This may be related to #2. It's also the nature of having a web SAAS but those are some kinks we've seen. 4. Better implementation of a "power tool" for querying searches across different mediums (such as requirements and test cases) etc
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
1. Assess your current organizations' needs and do some predictive analysis on all areas of your app design and consider what you need before jumping into any tool even this one. 2. Consider the volume you will have vs. what the cost of the tool is 3. Consider customization needs as well as needs for plugging in to other technologies such as ALM, Automation, Build Control, etc.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing

Requirements Management & Collaboration Made Easy
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Jama Connect from other similar products?
Jama makes managing requirements much easier. We were using SharePoint before, putting everything into a shared Excel file. It limited our ability to collaborate, which is what makes Jama way better. I don't have to send additional emails or set up meetings to open the Excel doc and run through requirement questions with my team. We can all work on it together or separately. I get notified when requirements are added and updated, which is very nice.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Requirements traceability is the big win here for me. I can see where the requirement came from, who authored it, if it's been changed, and if our team used it in design. And the collaboration is just wonderful. Now everyone can review and edit congruently, which wasn't the case with Microsoft Excel in SharePoint. Search feature is great also, as long as you're using tags.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I don't love the reporting. It doesn't provide enough useful reports, or provide me tools to create the reports I really need. I usually create my own reports in Excel, which just adds additional time to my workload.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Jama works best with the enterprise license. If you don't get this license, you won't be able to really access all of Jama's features, such as working congruently as a team.
Pros
- Client Friendly Policies
- Fair
- Acts with Integrity
- Client's Interest First
