How to read the Emotional Footprint
The Net Emotional Footprint measures high-level user sentiment towards particular product offerings. It aggregates emotional response ratings for various dimensions of the vendor-client relationship and product effectiveness, creating a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and product.
While purchasing decisions shouldn't be based on emotion, it's valuable to know what kind of emotional response the vendor you're considering elicits from their users.

Versatile Yet Costly Email Marketing Tool.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Mailchimp from other similar products?
The cool factor of Mailchimp is its AI-driven options for optimizing email campaigns. From subject line suggestions to send-time optimization, Mailchimp employs machine learning to provide real-world data to improve campaign performance. Many other platforms are largely insufficient in such intelligent automation.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I like the analytics and reporting tools Mailchimp also has. The system provides comprehensive reports on campaign success, audience performance and revenue attribution. This is analytics driven method for marketing that helps them adapt and develop their strategy based on experience of what works and what doesn’t. This along with A/B testing and AI content suggestions improves the efficiency of emails campaigns further.
What do you dislike most about this product?
One downside is that you cannot modify email templates without knowing how to code. While Mailchimp offers a selection of pre-built templates, when you want to be able to design something more custom, you are left with Mailchimp’s rather finite drag-and-drop editor. This can be a nightmare if you are trying to design your own unique email templates without a lot of HTML.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Before you invest in Mailchimp, take a look at your marketing goals in the long term and what they will be for Mailchimp. If you have a high-end CRM solution for your company, or want something really specific in your automation process, consider alternative tools that are experts in these areas. If you’re looking for a complete marketing platform, Mailchimp is still a solid option.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing

Mailchimp - still the market leader for SME’s
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Mailchimp from other similar products?
Mailchimp in my eyes is the leader in mail/CRM led software, and why I chose the mail product for my business. It was first to market, ahead of the game, and vital for my owner/managed business whereby I could e-mail my client base of 3-5,000. The key factor for Mailchimp is ease and use of templates, whereby mail outs reflected my brand and could be send quickly and easily (and re-used) multi platform. I enjoy the testing and reporting side etc. that goes over and above click through data from other vendors. Importantly for me as a small business is GDPR compliance and I would argue that Mailchimp is very much on top of this.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Choice of templates, reporting and data. The iOS App I find excellent when out of the office.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Cost. It’s that simple. I feel that Mailchimp where my contacts rose above 5,000 became price prohibitive. I understand the fairness of the ratio of contacts to price, but feel this does not necessarily take into account the sole trader like myself that has to watch all costs.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I would recommend using it, but I’d also recommend looking to other vendors. Mailchimp is still the number one brand, but price can be an issue. Most companies have a CRM, for example, Hubspot or Squarespace and they are now offering cheaper mail options on top of their CRM offerings. So it could be a cheaper option that meets needs to use your existing CRM vendor.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
Cons
- Vendor's Interest First
- Less Friendly Negotiation
