Great product that extends SharePoint capabilities

What differentiates Nintex from other similar products?
The only other products I’ve used for custom development are SharePoint Designer for workflow and InfoPath for forms. Calling those products similar to Nintex is like saying a Toyota Corolla is similar to a Ferrari because they are both cars. They’re not even close because Nintex blows the doors off SharePoint Designer and InfoPath!
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Speed of development for sure. I can quickly cobble together a demo or proof of concept to show stakeholders “the art of the possible” with SharePoint and Nintex together. The. Once we agree on details I can get down to the nuts and bolts of the requirements and making it all work.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Two things actually. First, when developing forms I often get a form load error. This is invariably due to a malformed rule that I have created. Sometimes it is because a field referenced in a rule has been deleted, or any of a number of other reasons. I wish that Nintex would highlight which rule was the problem, so that I don’t have to go through each one. That can tedious with a form that has dozens of rules. Second, I wish that workflow had a test/production flag so that I could turn off test notifications and turn on production notifications with one switch. I have actually come up with my own solution for this though.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you need quick develop capability that will extend and accentuate the usefulness of SharePoint, take a good look at Nintex. I’ve found that it’s changed my work products for the better. Like exponentially better!
