What differentiates Okta Identity Cloud from other similar products?

Okta makes it easy for me to access all of my applications at once, without individually signing-in to each one . This is made possible as a result of Okta's ability to combine multi factor authentication with single sign-on protocols. In cases where I have accessed my Okta application from a new location or a new device, Okta simply sends me a one time otp ( one time passcode ) to my phone number via sms to verify that I am the one trying to access my applications.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I have always admired Okta's new employee onboarding and offboarding protocol. It automatically provides access to all necessary applications when a new employee joins my company and the day they leave the company, they are automatically logged-out of all previous applications they used to have access to, in a matter of minutes. This saves Hr and the technical department a whole of lot of hassle , that would usually involve individually changing the passwords to all applications used by a previous employee.

What do you dislike most about this product?

When we have tried using Okta for automated systems, we were made to pay extra because Okta viewed connected automated systems as individual users. Secondly, there have been situations where we have simply realized that Okta slowed down certain customer login to our products, simply because of their geographical location. In my opinion, I think this only became an issue after Okta acquired Auth0 and integrated their protocol into Okta's customer identity and access management (CIAM) workflow

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I only recommend Okta identity cloud to large sized companies and provided that they are able to manage the fluctuating billing options that come with Okta, I believe this is a reliable identity cloud management software product though.
