What differentiates Oracle Student Cloud (SIS) from other similar products?
Students are already used to interacting with businesses and services that have made the leap to cloud. Students and researchers engage in discussion and debate on core issues online, and can do a majority of their research by accessing materials on their computer through cloud-based services like Audible, Google books, Amazon Kindle, and iBooks.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
This is actually very easy to answer. The feature that turned me onto Oracle and made me drop the others (before I came to Oracle) was quite simply it's concurrency model: </code> http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10743/consist.htm#sthref1934 <code> Multi-versioning and Read consistency, I cannot imagine doing database stuff without it.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Java nodemanager's startup time is annoyingly slow. It is small java class, which supposed to watch for PID-like files generated by managed servers and act on contents of those files (like shell based nodemanager does). Why it is so slow.
