A Simple B2B Marketing Solution with Limitations
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Salesforce Pardot from other similar products?
Pardot is native to Salesforce CRM and can be used in conjunction with Salesforce campaigns to manage the prospect lifecycle.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Pardot is easy to use and can be integrated with Salesforce. If you're currently using Salesforce CRM and looking for a simple B2B marketing solution for your business, Pardot may be a good fit. Pardot provides insights into prospect behavior and gives you the ability to nurture prospects based on scoring and grading functions. I'm most impressed with the simplicity of Pardot's Engagement Studio. The Engagement Studio makes it easy to build automated programs that can be used to engage prospects through the customer journey.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The simplicity of Pardot is often an obstacle. Pardot's automation and filtering capabilities are very limited, primarily due to the inability to use any Boolean logic beyond very basic operators. I also don't feel the tool works as well with Salesforce as claimed. I consistently find data that has not been synchronized, the reporting structure requires a lot of setup, and the workflows that rely on Pardot functions often break.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're currently using Salesforce CRM and looking for a simple B2B marketing solution for your business, Pardot may be a good fit. However, if you're looking for something that is more robust and can play the part of a full marketing engine, I would recommend something like Marketo or Hubspot.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Trustworthy
- Efficient Service
- Effective Service
Cons
- Leverages Incumbent Status
- Charges for Enhancements

It could be powerful, but it’s frustrating to use
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Salesforce Pardot from other similar products?
It has an outdated UI that often makes it harder to configure automations. It has connections to other salesforce tools, which in theory should make it easier to integrate into a fully functional marketing technology stack. In practice I found that it was still frustrating at times because of a lack of cross-platform integration.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favourite aspect of Pardot is that since most of the work I was doing in the platform was configuring automations, I didn’t have to spend a lot of time in there after they were set up. I would just be going in to update text or images and otherwise didn’t have to continuously manage the configuration.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It is a stereotypical enterprise tool - supposedly easy to use and powerful, but in reality confusing and limited. My experience is based on whatever the version of Pardot was in 2018, so my hope is that it has been overhauled since then.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Take a serious look at HubSpot before pulling the trigger on this tool. Unless your organization is already all-in on salesforce, I can’t recommend using Pardot.
Pros
- Trustworthy
- Respectful
- Client Friendly Policies
- Fair
Cons
- Commodity Features
- Wastes Time
