What is ServiceNow Asset Management?

ServiceNow Asset Management tracks the financial, contractual, and inventory details of hardware and virtual infrastructure – as well as non‑IT assets – throughout their lifecycle. Asset requests are handled using workflows to obtain approvals, validate entitlements, issue chargebacks, and provision services. Once an asset is deployed, Asset Management records all maintenance activity and enables IT to perform regular audits, right up until asset retirement.

What differentiates ServiceNow Asset Management from other similar products?

Using ServiceNow for ticketing, incident and request management already, it was simple to just implement asset and software tracking into our current infrastructure. It was very simple and easy to implement, use and you don't see that with other offerings.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

AzureAD/Intune integration works great, auto updates and allows us to track our assets/software/licensing easily.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Licensing for features can get very expensive. For larger companies it makes sense to use but for start ups or smaller businesses, they may not be able to leverage the costs.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If the company already uses service now and wants a full 1 product does all approach then use ServiceNow.

What differentiates ServiceNow Asset Management from other similar products?

ServiceNow is pretty helpful out of the box for the most prominent software vendors, but after getting through your first and maybe second-tier publishers, things can be much more complex very quickly.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Dashboards are pretty and easy to dig into. Integrations are easy to set up.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Having to customize metrics and code that logic is harder than you'd hope.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

ServiceNow may be the best in the industry. Don't blow by this one while looking for an Asset Management tool.
