What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
Slack allows and encourages employees to interact with one another more: asking questions, reviewing more frequently, sharing interesting articles, and so on. It promotes community and facilitates communication. While email is more customer, Slack keeps a company's internal team connected.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The ease with which I can communicate with others and promptly discuss issues. Great for synchronous work, particularly for distant teams working in different time zones. I also appreciate being able to set reminders to revisit a topic or contact someone at a later time. It aids in the organization of discussions and ensures that the appropriate individuals are included.
What do you dislike most about this product?
When there are too many individuals in a gathering, it's easy for items to get buried. I also dislike the fact that we are unable to include gifs in threads. Only ordinary channel messages can contain such. This issue should be resolved in future editions.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I would suggest Slack to those who want to boost their productivity and decision-making efficiency in their organization. However, if you also want this program to meet your video conferencing needs, please look into it. It is the market leader in social collaboration and is fantastic at it.

Great app integration and simple querying language
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
Slack is a whole beast unto itself. It allows seamless communication combined with unmatched app integration. My company has integrations with JIRA, Figma, Dropbox and Trello, to name a few. Being able to integrate smaller apps (such as estimating agile stories during our zoom estimation meetings) has been a breath of fresh air.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
App integration - getting messages from other apps that we use all the time using simple hooks has been a game changer for our productivity. We don't need to constantly switch between browser tabs to get quick hits of information that inform the conversations that we are currently having over Slack. We also love the poll feature to get a general consensus on a group-wide question. Slack allows for inclusive communication across teams and disciplines within our organization.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I don't like the native app - it's very slow and extremely CPU-intensive. As a result, I prefer the web app (despite the recommendation from my company to use the native app). Outside of that very small issue (since there is a simple workaround for me), things move very quickly on Slack and aside from pinning, there is no way to remind myself of the most important thing I was just looking at. I can save messages, but it sometimes gets overwhelming to save 30 things in a day and not quite remember the context - you can go back and look at the context easily, but it takes quite a bit of time out of the day.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Don't hesitate - jump right in. Slack is the de-facto communication tool for organizations in 2022 and has greatly reduced how much time my teammates have to spend on actual video calls. It allows for quick updates, quick questions to get answered, and has also reduced our reliance on emails. It truly does change how productive we are and I can't imagine going back to anything else.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing

The best communications app in the industry
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
Slack is by far the best instant message/communications platform I have ever used. It is easy to use and the search function makes it unlike any other product on the market, in my opinion.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I love how fun and collaborative it is. I also love that I can search and find literally anything. Communications are simpler and more fun because of the integrations with emojis/gifs/productivity apps and more. Also love the poll feature.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The video chat is always a little glitchy. My calls never connect on the first try, but once they do the quality is good.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
This is a must have for collaborative companies. It is fun to use, intuitive and is easily built into processes and workflows. 10/10 recommend.
