Incredibly easy to use, eliminate email
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
Slack focuses in primarily on collaboration and instant messaging. It revolutionized the workflow within my office as we used it to eliminate email as an internal communication tool. Document sharing (not to mention the ability to search chat and within shared docs!) and threaded discussions also allowed sub-teams to work and keep our main channels free for general communication.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Slack is the ease of use around the main feature: instant messaging. We found morale was improved as the more informal nature not only allowed for official work communication, but also accommodated for a bit of the 'water-cooler' chat essential for team unity, even when not all team members were in the same physical location.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There's not much to dislike when you use Slack for the instant messaging purpose. If you are looking for task and project management with collaboration, Slack will probably not do that well. My only complaint is that over an extended period of time, the desktop app can get bogged down if you have many channels running.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If your sole goal is to improve inter-team or office collaboration and communication, Slack excels above most others. It has become a proven brand that is excellent for quick communication, and has become indispensable in that regard. I have also used it to connect with broader communities in the classroom or through common interests at academic conferences, allowing conversations to continue far beyond the actual conference.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity

The swift and slick platform for collaboration.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
Slack is very beautifully designed and functioned. Slack provides integration with almost every software that teams need to work with. Slack can be integrated with Zoom, and we can directly schedule a zoom meeting by touching the one-click of the call button. This platform is integrated with my google calendar. Even I used to create different channels based on need. This platform handle messages, audio/video chat is also an outstanding feature. Availability of mobile applications is one of the pillars of this platform which helps us to be connected you are away from a laptop. Hence Slack is solving all my needs when we all work remotely.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
There are a lot of favourites aspects. The best one is the search feature. I use it a lot within my organisation to find past conversations. it is more user-friendly and is easy to connect. This platform supports VOIP that enables call features. It works seamlessly on laptops and even on mobile applications with any performance issue. Customisation is also very good. We can tag specific folks into a private message and even turning off/on the notification is very easy. I can also create channels specific to group communication and outside organisation collaboration is also possible with creating channels without losing any sensitive data.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The are a few things that need to improve. I request the Slack team to work on file management. I face difficulties getting access to files which has been shared through Slack. For example, it's challenging to use GIFs files. You can enter any chat group by searching group names even if you are not invited. I would also request the Slack team to polish the user interface. Old messages are deleted after a certain period of time in the free versions. There is no option to pinpoint crucial information to everyone.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Slack is a super user-friendly platform. This was a fantastic tool to use when a lot of offices were working from home. I recommend downloading Slack, no matter the size of your team. The best thing about slack is that we can use it on almost all devices, so we can reply to all the important work-related messages just from our mobile phones.
Pros
- Trustworthy
- Caring
- Saves Time
- Fair
