Ease of use, in depth use by educational institutions, solid product offering with in-depth features and capabilities.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The modeling environment is intuitive, and they have many resources to teach anyone how to get started and do well in 3d modeling.
What do you dislike most about this product?
While the features are good, I feel there are many competitors that are integrating great new features and capabilties that will be highly relevant in the future such as 3d scanning, cloud based simulation, third party developer add-ons , etc.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
This product is an industry standard in many areas of the world. It has great support and following and is a very powerful software capable of helping companies successfully design and test their products.

SOLIDWORKS' performance with very big assemblies is one of the most prevalent complaints, as it can be erratic and slow at times. Furthermore, the program can be rather costly, particularly when add-ons and maintenance are taken into account. The high learning curve for more advanced capabilities could also be difficult for users to navigate.
