Tulip MES- The leading frontline operation.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Tulip from other similar products?
The key difference between a platform as a service (PaaS) and traditional MES is that the architecture of the first enables a composable solution. Leverage computer vision capabilities to guide, measure and improve operations. Print and affix specialized item stickers to detect materials’ arrival or departure. Guide operators with virtual buttons to move through work instructions via computer-vision enabled apps.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Tulip provides visibility and clarity into shop floor pillars, including people, processes, machines and devices. It monitors machines to identify bottlenecks, decrease downtime and improve efficiency. Tables enable users to set up customized databases. It automates workflows and integrates with calendar and communication apps like Google Calendar, Slack, Microsoft teams and more. Manufacturing analytics let users visualize shop floor data and create real-time reports, dashboards and visualizations.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There are no such dislikes. The Tulip platform has one codebase and apps are configurations, not coded customizations. Thinking back to the pillars of composable architecture, agility, and extensibility demand this. A single codebase allows for regular, fast updates across that codebase, which amount to bi-weekly or quarterly platform upgrades across all of your sites, rather than overhauls and customization. You get access to new capabilities sooner. Traditional MES doesn’t allow that. That’s why Tulip is a challenger.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Organize and store production data in real time in a customizable database. Define custom data models to fit business processes. Integrate tables within the database with other apps to update records automatically. Integrate workflows with calendar and communication apps like Slack, Google Calendar and more to facilitate automation. Perform root-cause analysis to identify and solve defects, reduce human errors and minimize scrap and rework costs. Create Pareto charts to analyze and prioritize issue resolution. Measure and track the first-pass yield throughout business operations.
