Overall Solution/Tax compliant/API Limitations
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Zoho Books from other similar products?
The integration with other modules like ZOHO CRM, ZOHO People, ZOHO Payroll, makes it extremely beneficial for companies who want this as a one stop solution. In other cases, either we have to set up that entire integration or do a lot of manual processes in order to have linkages cross-functionally.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Ease of documentation of the entire order processing. From estimate to Sales Order to Invoice and Purchase Order, we have been able to link up everything and automate using their APIs.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Limits on API hits per minute and workflow limits. This has resulted in literal revenue losses of $500,000 on a single day earlier when the entire system was down and we were out of ZOHO Flows, and Workflows in ZOHO Books.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
You should know the peak utilization of APIs and flows. Once that analysis is done, you must always keep a buffer with the platform to make sure that there is enough space to accommodate any surges.
Pros
- Inspires Innovation
- Transparent
- Security Protects
- Respectful
Cons
- Less Efficient Service
- Inhibits Innovation
- Slower Product Innovation

Free version supports mandatory VAT return
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Zoho Books from other similar products?
I have been using Zoho books for my startup company incorporated in India. While forming a UK company as resident of India in 2021, I was in need of a software that also supports mandatory filing of VAT return into a free version. Being tight on budget, I found Zoho allowing this feature as well more that should be suffice for a startup with budget constraint. As QuickBooks closed its operation in India, I suggest migrating to Zoho Books to all my connections.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Zoho Books allow a customer portal (with URL) that makes it easy to access for customers to update/print their account details, transactions.
What do you dislike most about this product?
User interface can be made more visually appealing.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Since Zoho has a suite of products, start with one of their products and strategize how their entire suite can be leveraged best.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product

- Performance Enhancing

Fantastic product with some quirks
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Zoho Books from other similar products?
Zoho is very intuitive and they have worked on the Dashboard such that not only do you get a clear picture of everything that exists right now but the predictive analytics bring on real value.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Everything is very well thought out and works out of the box such that the learning curve involved is bare minimum.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The main disadvantage is that it seems to have been built keeping in mind the needs of the small business users and stuff such as recording of depreciation/ bulk import of invoices etc do not work as seamlessly as they should.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
It is a good product for early stage businesses but it is not a comprehensive solution in itself, and will need addons most of which are offered by Zoho itself in form of other products that being said if you are looking for one single complete solution in itself this may not be the best solution that is out there.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
