The new standard features, formerly bad security
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Zoom from other similar products?
Until I moved over to Teams, I had no idea that Zoom appeared to be the most feature-rich of all the video conferencing software. Being able to mark up someone else's screen, whiteboarding, audio share, and very easy keyboard/mouse control are all things missing from some competitors.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Aside from ease of use? Being able to draw on my or someone else's screen. You don't realize how helpful it is until you don't have it any more. But really at this point it's just that everyone knows how to use it.
What do you dislike most about this product?
If you look into it, there was a whole range of security issues over the past year or two, which would provide understandable pause from anyone who needs encryption, for example.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
What, specifically do you want and need to do on a video conference? And how tech savvy are your users? How much does encryption matter (or required if, say, you're a government contractor or other heavily regulated industry)? Is Teams already included in your Microsoft contract?
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Reliable
- Enables Productivity
- Performance Enhancing
Cons
- Security Frustrates
- Less Inspiring
- Less Fair
