The data center access policy helps to define standards, procedures, and restrictions for accessing the company data center(s). This policy will reduce operating risks by helping to regulate traffic to data centers, which could open up security vulnerabilities or cause infrastructure outages. It will protect corporate data, networks, and databases from unauthorized access and/or malicious attacks. All access to company data centers must be controlled and monitored closely, and the data center access policy allows companies to define appropriate processes for doing so.
Risks addressed by this policy:
- Loss of critical corporate data
- Malicious attack on corporate data and technology based resources
- Loss of revenue
