After interviewing business stakeholders and identifying high priority capabilities and initiatives, record the definitions of the gathered metrics from the Metrics Evaluation Matrix Template into the EA Capability Metric Definition Tool.
- Step 1: Using the Metrics Evaluation Matrix Template, select up to a dozen value measures from the upper-left quadrant.
- Step 2: Help the business establish these metrics, if they do not exist formally. Use the EA Capability Metric Definition Tool.
- Step 3: Verify if baseline data exists and its quality is adequate. Otherwise, start collecting baseline data immediately. A baseline must be established before the initiative begins and starts affecting performance.
