The Information Flow Architect (IFA) ensures the integrity and efficiency of data flows (logical and physical) throughout the enterprise, and that data are shaped and delivered to the appropriate location to enable the organization to make data-driven business decisions using analytics. The IFA is also responsible for:
- The design, development, and implementation of database structure, for understanding the business needs and IT capabilities, and ensuring that the right information is available to the right business unit when required.
- System-level data architecture, governance, processes, and tools across multiple data types for the enterprise.
- Establishing an appropriate strategy for reporting and analytical tools for using the data.
The IFA must work closely with the Enterprise Architect (EA) to ensure enterprise-level standards and requirements are met, and reports to the office of the CIO.
