JDA Workforce Management #1 in Usability?
Looking at software vendor capability through a single lens may result in a limited view of a vendor. Using at least two dimensions of comparison will provide a more accurate view of a vendor’s ranking. A recent independent study ranked JDA Workforce Management highest in usability while showing JDA Workforce Management as 8th in the features category.
JDA references a study by Nucleus Research where JDA Workforce Management was compared against other vendors on usability and features. The report includes Ceridian, Workforce Software, Infor, Kronos, ADP, and Paycom amongst others. JDA workforce management ranks 8th in features and 1st in usability. A second dimension in the ranking provides a better perspective of the relative ranking of JDA when compared to its peers.
When compared to the online reviews gathered by Info-Tech’s SoftwareReviews and the JDA Workforce Management Scorecard published in October 2018, JDA Workforce Management is showing improvement in usability while remaining consistent in the ranking on features. In the October 2018 report JDA ranked 5th in usability and intuitiveness providing yet another dimension of comparison. The report also showed that JDA ranked 8th in features, which is consistent with the independent results. Another aspect of comparison by SoftwareReviews is ranking JDA against larger competitors such as SumTotal, Verint, and Oracle, which impacts the ranking.

Our Take
Vendors and customers can benefit from the results of research performed by multiple independent sources. Vendors can get a perspective on how their products are being perceived in the marketplace. Customers can use the reports to get a quick relative ranking of the vendors to consider. Using Info-Tech’s research combined with SoftwareReviews can provide two points of reference to support vendor evaluation and selection. When evaluating vendors consider the following:
- Methodology used.
- Source of the data (survey vs online reviews).
- Vendors included in the mix.
- Multi dimensions – the more the better.
