Practice Fusion EHR Bolsters Automation Capability With Veradigm Partnership
The cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) vendor, Practice Fusion, has partnered with Veradigm, a healthcare data services provider.
- Practice Fusion is now going to offer Veradigm’s eChart Courier product underSLA with no added cost.
- eChart Courier automates responses to patient chart requisitions from insurance providers and healthcare institutions.
- The goal of the partnership is to add automation functionality to Practice Fusion’s EHR. Specifically, to automate processes that are administratively cumbersome like manual chart reviews conducted by health plans.
Our Take
The Practice Fusion and Veradigm partnership is not unprecedented. Veradigm has established a very similar partnership for data services and automation with Allscripts, another major EHR provider. The largest EHR vendors in the market, Cerner and Epic, have yet to offer integrated data-based automation solutions. Therefore, these data and automation focused partnerships are a critical means of differentiating functionality for vendors looking to standout in a crowed application landscape.
