What is Dynatrace?
The Dynatrace platform unifies observability, business, and security data at a massive scale (Grail) with continually updated topology and dependency mapping (Smartscape) to capture and retain full-stack data context. It leverages hypermodal AI (Davis), combining predictive AI to anticipate future behaviors, causal AI to deliver precise answers and intelligent automation, and generative AI to automatically provide recommendations, create suggested workflows or dashboards, and let people use natural language to explore, solve, and complete tasks.

Application performance monitoring solution.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Dynatrace from other similar products?
Dynatrace is presently our key motivator for fixing issues in the business, with the core applications being Application Insights and Host Health. We discovered useful features such as the new SLO, the Smartscape topology, troubleshooting, and the diagnostic tool. Real-time user monitoring allows us to follow users across the organization. End-to-end monitoring for key applications has brought significant benefit to application teams in terms of time and effort savings. Dynatrace finds answers to complicated problems without requiring users to connect into numerous systems and attempt to link their results.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Dynatrace is a brilliant application performance monitoring technology that we are now using as our primary driving force in fixing problems in the company. It's a tremendous benefit to be able to "see through" user activities and offer application performance measurements. Developers enjoy seeing what is causing the delays or difficulties since it allows them to quickly fix and test their code. The flexibility to interact with numerous APIs is a huge benefit, and the AI causality engine is outstanding and can rapidly find the underlying cause.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It is not inexpensive; you must be prepared to spend. The most crucial elements of the new solution are not free. We found Dynatrace to be a great product, but it comes at a price that may not put a huge grin on the faces of C-tier people when it comes to budget discussions.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Before investing large sums of money, do your study and ensure that corporate leadership, all application and infrastructure teams are on board. Dynatrace is highly recommended; provided you fulfill your budget allocation and expenditure objective, the product is a good choice.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity

Dynatrace is an excellent monitoring tool.

What differentiates Dynatrace from other similar products?
To optimize and run our systems on public clouds, we leverage a variety of serverless services (mainly AWS). Things fail all the time, and we utilize Dynatrace to rapidly determine what's wrong, where it's broken, and how to fix it. Dynatrace delivers real-time monitoring, visibility into regions of poor performance, and optimization of infrastructure use. Capability to recognize performance shortcomings and areas for improvement. The dashboard and single pane of glass give critical data and metrics that assisted in establishing a baseline, and any rise in use can be monitored and ascribed to a specific trigger or spike in demand.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Observability is critical to manage our infrastructure stack, and Dynatrace assists us in doing so efficiently. Your Service Map provides you with everything you need to track the course of data flow and how microservices are linked. Personally, I enjoy the'replay' feature, which allows you to redo the difficulties and figure out what went wrong. With insight into the network and infrastructure, the business may prioritize investment expenses and concentrate on areas of immediate need. A comprehensive dashboard designed as a single pane of glass gives real-time and accurate performance statistics.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There are certain drawbacks to agentless monitoring. When you don't install AgentOne, you have to spend a lot of time customizing visibility, and your apps suffer as a result. Alerts can be too much at times, and it will require some learning and adapting to match the particular needs of the company, since there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
This tool has performed admirably in terms of monitoring. Prior to deployment, the complete scope of monitoring needs should be known. Begin by gathering requirements, determining the scope of implementation, and determining a time schedule for global implementation. The integration with the service currently or BMC Helix would be a key priority to guarantee that any issues are automatically filed as a ticket. Other tools exist in the shape of LogzIO and Espagon, but each tool has its own distinct capabilities when you delve under the layers.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity

The best APM tools I have ever used.

What differentiates Dynatrace from other similar products?
Dynatrace is used to monitor our on-premises workloads as well as some of our cloud workloads. We can see which instances require scaling. We are saving time by not attempting to hack the cloud surveillance logs. Dynatrace is one of the best APM solutions for providing adequate monitoring for cloud-based or online applications, as well as live tracking and active alerts based on our needs. This tool also provides synthetic monitoring that displays current application availability data.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Dynatrace is at the cutting edge of technologies that support current software engineering approaches such as NoOps, GitOps, SRE, and so on. Dynatrace products help with continuous monitoring, root cause analysis, anomaly detection, and self-healing. The ability to have realtime alerts and synthetic monitoring of cloud-based or online apps with proper tracking and monitoring is what I enjoy best about the Dynatrace tool.
What do you dislike most about this product?
One thing I dislike about the Dynatrace tool is that, even with the set threshold for alert control, we occasionally received false notifications while the program was running. Because of Dynatrace range of features, it is an ocean that a novice/beginner would struggle to cross. The initial step requires an experienced user.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
You won't know a tool until you try it with a small workload and see how cost-effective it is. However, this is the best APM tool in my opinion for tracking and monitoring web or cloud-based applications with proper statistics and synthetic monitoring.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
