What differentiates IBM Cognos Analytics from other similar products?
The way IBM Cognos is different from other analytics solutions is its use of artificial intelligence. Data assistance allows users to ask questions in plain language and focus on interesting data for question-answering. This makes analytics work for any person irrespective of his or her technical background.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite feature of Cognos is the easy to use and also the fact that it is customizable. I am able to create individual dashboards adapted to the needs of my team members as well as exporting the reports. Moreover, documentation and learning resources are also great, which enables new users to recognize quickly how the tool is used.
What do you dislike most about this product?
However, there are a couple of gaps that could be closed. Rarely, data loading takes a bit of time when handling large volume of data or when dealing with highly complex sets of data. It is sometimes not the case though for such a system can be disadvantageous in crucial moments.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
That is why, I would suggest IBM Cognos Analytics as it is a powerful tool that does not require a lot of effort to use it. This is very useful in any organization due to its capability in the use of artificial intelligence, nice visualization, and easy to work with interface. In brief, if you need a tool that enables you to get powerful information from data, Cognos is really good for this.

Highly customizable, must be a SQL master to fully extract the value out of this product

Know SQL well, know your data models Well, play with the dashboarding and customization at every level (individual contributors, managers, Executives.)
