What differentiates Pendo from other similar products?
The breadth and depth of the product suite is unparalleled in the industry. Pendo is constantly putting out new functionality, some big and some small, that increases the experience of all of our internal users.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The "always on" capture of analytics is amazing. We previously used products that required us to plan and put development time into capturing analytics on new or updated functionality. If (when) we forgot or missed something we'd need to plan again and it would be months before we had any actionable intelligence. With Pendo we no longer need to do that; it's always recording, ready to report on your apps when you want to know.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I wish the API was a bit easier to use; it's very flexible but some of the more complex endpoints (aggregate, etc) really bend our minds.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you want or need to have more insight on what users are doing within your applications and don't want to meticulously plan each trigger or event, buy Pendo. You'll save a lot of time and money in the long run by having the capabilities it brings. Tactically, make sure you have a naming convention and plan for an administrative group who will help to keep Pendo "tidy". It's so easy to create features, pages, and user segments that sometimes things get unruly. This is where some upfront planning and delegation can be a timesaver.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Unique Features
