Extensive function sets with graphical interface!
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates SAS Data Integration Studio from other similar products?
the graphical interface and the validation in the background that monitors your scripting
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Mapping data makes it easy and great due to the clear lines between input and output screens.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The transformation can take a longer time than using Python scripts but that might be caused by limiting hardware.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
BY using a commercial software package you are locking yourself into a eco system. But you get in return a reliable off the shelf solution. Less online support an examples for scripting then Python or other open source languages. Implementing new exciting technologies is more difficult when you have to stay within an eco system. The balance between innovation and reliability is more on the reliability side with sas di studio.

Great tool for building pipelines but expensive
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates SAS Data Integration Studio from other similar products?
It's heavily integrated into the Dutch Government's systems. It's old compared with other similar products, and it's expensive, but it does the job.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The simple drag and drop system of blocks. I'm a coder myself but the chances of making mistakes are not that high using SAS DI.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The price of the license and the lack of support are the reasons it's not that often used in companies anymore.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're new to SAS and your organization doesn't use it yet, you should probably look into other alternatives. It's hard to find experts with experience in SAS DI, and they are expensive. Also, there is less demand, so if you choose another tool from a hiring perspective, you would have a bigger pool of candidates.
Pros
- Reliable
- Enables Productivity
- Caring
- Respectful
Cons
- Commodity Features
- Less Inspiring
- Wastes Time
