What differentiates Surfer SEO from other similar products?
We use it mostly when crafting SEO blog briefs, optimizing landing pages, or refreshing old content that’s starting to slip in SERPs. I’ll pull in a content editor from our team, run a Surfer audit, and we’ll tag-team updates in real-time. One time we rewrote a 1,200-word SaaS comparison article using Surfer’s content editor, and within two weeks, it jumped from page 4 to the middle of page 1. Same message, just sharper targeting.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
One of the slickest features is the live content score. As you write or tweak, the score adjusts based on keyword density, structure, headings, and even NLP terms. It’s like having an SEO whispering over your shoulder—but less annoying and more accurate. The SERP analyzer is also gold when I need to show stakeholders why we’re structuring a page a certain way.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There are times when it can feel a little too prescriptive. Like, if you follow it word-for-word, you end up with robotic-sounding paragraphs. You still need editorial judgment to balance optimization with flow
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Surfer SEO is the one tool that’s practically glued to my browser at this point. For any agency trying to keep content lean, readable, and laser-focused, it’s become the cheat code. I lean on it daily to help bridge the gap between what our creatives want to write and what Google actually wants to rank. It doesn’t kill creativity—it just gives it guardrails.

it gives live feedback on SEO improvements while you write. I’ve used it to optimize blog posts for keyword density, readability, and structure, often seeing rankings improve within weeks.
What do you dislike most about this product?
With limited credits per month, I’ve had to prioritize which articles to optimize, which isn’t ideal for a fast-paced agency.
