LP's resource-leveling solutions changed my life.

What differentiates Tempo Portfolio Manager from other similar products?
Resource leveling functionality allows me to understand the time factors and human dependencies of a broad development roadmap. I've found no better way to clarify and rationalize the calendar. The process of building a portfolio of projects factored by dependencies and resource availability brings insight I've never gotten elsewhere.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Watching, on the screen, how the whole world changes when I modify one factor. Ridiculously educational moments.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I'd welcome more flexibility on the pricing structure for modeling resources. I don't need a large number of logins since I use the software for heavy modeling more than team activity tracking or reporting . That said, I find the price to be quite fair for the quality of the product.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
This is a company of people you can talk to, so explore your needs with them. The UI is very friendly and easy to learn, and the team is available to consult on the tricky stuff - I've done that twice with success. The frequency of version release is good and the quality has been spot on. I've used other platforms, but I've stuck with LP because it's easy to work with, dependable, and does resource leveling like nothing else I could find. Highly recommended, and we're a software shop.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity

What differentiates Tempo Portfolio Manager from other similar products?
I have little experience with competing products and was not involved in the product selection process so it would be difficult to say.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Detailed tracking and prioritization for tasks and projects. Good level of adaptability for your particular workflow.
What do you dislike most about this product?
No ability to have more than 1 person working on the same task simultaneously. There are many situations where this is sorely missed. You want to track how long it will take to complete a project, but have to balance this with the need to also track how many hours of labour are used to complete a task. For example two people working on a task which takes 4 hours to complete. For the project timeline, we must consider 4 hours for the task. For labour cost tracking, 8 hours must be considered. Liquid planner cannot handle this scenario to my knowledge. So you must choose which time you want to prioritize for tracking.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Full commitment to the software is required. You must track everything for everyone using the software. Else it becomes useless. If a team member is working on any task which has not been added to the software, the project timelines will not be correct.
