How to read the Emotional Footprint
The Net Emotional Footprint measures high-level user sentiment towards particular product offerings. It aggregates emotional response ratings for various dimensions of the vendor-client relationship and product effectiveness, creating a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and product.
While purchasing decisions shouldn't be based on emotion, it's valuable to know what kind of emotional response the vendor you're considering elicits from their users.

What differentiates Zulip from other similar products?
We use Zulip to provide technical support for our open source projects. Zulip supports "login with GitHub", which greatly encourages participation by avoiding the friction of users having to create a separate account to access our support forums. We also were able to import the full discussion history from our previous chat platform without any trouble. Compared to competitors such as Discord, Zulip has better features for tracking and resolving support tickets -- it's not merely a chat window. They have full desktop apps, mobile apps, and a web browser interface.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The "enterprise" type features compared to other chat apps, for example "mark unread", "move this and following comments to a new thread", markdown formatting, etc.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The two features I would most like to see: 1. Global user profiles, allowing a single login+profile to be used across multiple Zulip communities (Discord recently added this). 2. A setting to allow anonymous internet users to browse forum discussions without needing to login. For a support forum, this would greatly increase participation by allowing people to see the thread before they reply (Gitter offered this).
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Zulip's software development is done as open source, and their everyday engineering team discussions take place on a public Zulip server. If you want to see what the product is like, join their server -- it's very interesting!
