Ripple Welcomes Yoshitaka Kitao to Its Board of Directors
Ripple expands its capabilities in the Asian market by recruiting SBI Group’s CEO, President, and Representative Director, Yoshitaka Kitao, onto its board.
Kitao established SBI Group in 1999 and has transformed it into one of Japan’s most prominent financial services groups. Kitao help establish SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture between Ripple and SBI Group. This joint venture currently provides the MoneyTap mobile app which allows customers to settle transactions 24/7.
Our Take
Approximately 50% of Ripple’s current customers are located in the Asian region. Kitao comes at a great time to help deepen the market for Ripple in the region. Given his experiences in the financial services space, Kitao will assist Ripple greatly as it moves to expand further globally.
