Absorb LMS Acquires eLogic Learning LMS – Its Second Acquisition of 2019
Absorb LMS has acquired Tampa-based eLogic Learning LMS. This is the second acquisition in its aggressive acquisition growth strategy, following its acquisition of Torch LMS in May. With both of these acquisitions, Absorb has increased its active customers to over 1,000 and now has over 225 employees over eight offices.
This acquisition was fueled by eLogic’s global client base and Absorb’s desire to expand into the international LMS market. Absorb’s leadership will benefit from deepened vertical expertise in retail, healthcare, and fast-casual dining. eLogic also brings its custom-developed eLearning content and third-party courseware library.
The financials and terms of this acquisition were undisclosed.
Our Take
As mentioned in our note regarding the Torch acquisition, as the LMS market matures, organic growth is harder to achieve. Thanks to the large injection of cash from Silversmith Capital partners, Absorb LMS is pursuing an aggressive acquisition strategy to stay competitive and expand its customer base. Based on how quickly this acquisition followed the Torch announcement, we do not expect this to be Absorb’s last acquisition of 2019.
