An Essential and Effective HR & Payroll Tool

What differentiates Dayforce from other similar products?
Overall, the best feature of Ceridian is that you have several different modules all working in sync. It allows you to use one system, where in the past you might have had a half dozen or so different systems. It’s like a Swiss army knife.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I like that Dayforce is not a rigid stone tablet. It is highly customizable and flexible depending on your needs. As a result, there is often more than one way to accomplish something. For some admins, that might make it more challenging to use, but it makes our super-users feel more empowered and independent as admins.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The majority of our employees are hourly manufacturing workers who aren’t sitting in front of a computer all day, so that presents a challenge in making sure they have access to everything they need. The mobile app has improved, but there are still things that are currently not accessible via mobile. Two most crucial things that come to mind are ability to view attendance points, and ability to complete performance reviews. Ceridian recently added mobile benefits enrollment. The app currently does not allow team member to complete “Forms” on the mobile device.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Ceridian will work very closely with you, especially during implementation. But if you go into your partnership with Ceridian expecting them to do everything, you will likely get frustrated. While Ceridian offers support and assistance, they give you the freedom to make your instance your own. The more time you can spend figuring out solutions on your own and learning the system (and there is a LOT to learn) in the process, the better off you will be in the long run.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing

From a payroll processing perspective it is the most intuitive product I have used thus far.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Their delivered reports are lacking and their built-in reporting feature does not make it is not easy to modify the majority of their existing reports.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Thoroughly map out your Organizational structure from your Legal Entity to Locations, Departments, Sites, Zones, etc. and ensure you have you Job Assignments setup correctly so that you do not have to create a new Job Assignment for each department (different labor cost centers).
