The fact it can join multiple video call platforms, quality of features, and the great email and pipelining tools. Automated coaching as well as analytics dashboard. Collaborator licenses are also key.

I know every call my team makes can be reviewed and coached on, reliably. It also helps me look at the pipeline and warns me about any issues via email. Finally, the customer success team there is top notch and trains our new employees and replies fast to requests.

Gong isn't for anything outside of Sales
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Gong from other similar products?
When we were considering purchasing Gong we were interested in the call sharing feature for those outside of the organization. We were comparing Gong to Chorus.ai and found that Gong had a better sharing feature. I recently found grain.co which has some great features for user research and interviews.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I like: - The transcription quality is good enough. Our team benchmarked the software against Google and AWS, and we found out that Gong uses their proprietary transcription software. It looks like Gong's transcription has been trained on zoom meetings and calls. - The video playback feature in Gong is enjoyable to use. They have features like highlighting works as the speaker talks, seeing each speaker's talk tracks below the player, speed control up to 2.5x for the playback, and a way to minimize the video view to the bottom right of the screen. - Gong is able to record from several meeting softwares like Google Meets and Zoom
What do you dislike most about this product?
I dislike: - I hate their display of upcoming calls. It's a pain to navigate, and there are no additional details on the upcoming calls. You would think Gong would show the meeting details, especially when you're working with your team and organization, but they don't! - Your historical recorded calls are not valuable. Gong does not allow you to assign speakers to calls that you upload to their system. It will automatically assign the speakers as "Phone caller #1" / #2 / #3, etc. All recorded calls before you start using Gong, and any call the Gong recorder does not join (happens a lot) will not be assigned to a team member.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Only buy Gong if you intent to use this product for sales related work. It's not meant for user research, interviewing, coaching and or education. The features are very limited for anything but sales. And the product looks like it's tailored to the enterprise. If you are a smaller company you're not going to get that much support from their team. Our account manager left six months after we started Gong. It seemed like they were trying to do too much. I would have preferred to have had a completely unmanaged account where you just pay for the seats.
Pros
- Includes Product Enhancements
- Reliable
- Inspires Innovation
- Respectful
Cons
- Vendor's Interest First
- Less Effective Service
- Wastes Time
